The 2001 Test Series between Australia and India was a classic, despite being played over a mere three matches. The Australians arrived in India aiming to break Australia's record for consecutive Test wins.

Wisden commented: "Steve Waugh's team seemed to be on the point of emulating Bill Lawry's when they won the First Test at Mumbai, by ten wickets in three days, and then made India follow on 274 behind in the Second at Kolkata".

However, it was at that point that things started to go awry. Some stunning batting from VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid, and an exceptional performance by a 20 year old Harbhajan Singh, saw India rally and then, ultimately win the series 2-1.

The Eden Gardens win (the second Test in the series) is seen as a milestone game in the history of Indian cricket and one of the side's all time great wins.

Note: Gamers should note that realistically utilising players to match the number of games they played in a Series will tend to increase the realism of the statistics generated during the game.
