The Ashes – 2006-07 - Farewell to Two Greats
After England's stunning success in 2005 the return fixture 18 months later was a shock. From Harmison's wayward first delivery to open the Series, to Flintoff's "Nothing to see here...all is fine" pressers, this was an Ashes for Australian fans only.
Even when England appeared to have the upper hand, like a mirage in the drought stricken Australian countryside of the time, it soon vanished.
Apart from the 5-0 whitewash, this series is best remembered as a fond farewell tour for two of Australia's greats - Shane Warne and Glen McGrath - and the emergence of the iconic Monty Panesar.
